Your Tesla no longer works on Vodafone NZ

On 28 September 2022, it was announced that Vodafone New Zealand will change its name to One New Zealand in early 2023.

Vodafone NZ claims that customers' ability to roam on networks overseas will be unaffected by the name change.

Tesla internet uses a home Wi-Fi network. Any device connected to that network can view web pages and install apps on your mobile or desktop.

Internet is a critical part of everyday life. You cannot function without it to navigate the web, shop online, or even communicate with friends and family.

The most important feature of the Tesla Model 3 is its internet connectivity. Without it, you are severely limited in what applications and websites you can access.

Is Tesla Internet faster than my current internet connection?

New Zealand is an island country in the South Pacific east of Australia, southwest of America, and north of Australia. It has a population of just over 5 million people, and is home to five main islands: New Zealand’s main island, Aparorua; its second, Taranaki; its largest islands, North and South Taranaki; and smaller ones such as Cook; Inangahra; and Ruapuna.

The majority of New Zealanders live on or near the main islands. Most people travel by car or plane rather than by public transportation.

Expect to pay higher prices for new and used cars - thousands of cars have been written off

New Zealand has declared a state of emergency.

If you ever drive a car that is flooded, you may notice a terrible smell. It is probably due to all the water inside the car.

The water must break down some of the materials in the vehicle, including plastic and carpet. This causes it to smell bad for a short period of time.

Many people will be looking to buy new cars, as they have had to write off their cars, due to the flood and mechanical and water damage to their vehicles was extensive.

Prices for new cars are expected to surge due to increased demand for new and used cars.

If a car has been underwater for a short time, it can look like the paint has run down the car and into the ground. This is because the water has softened the paint slightly.

When a car is damaged, the odometer can be a useful piece of gear to check. The odometer can read how many miles the vehicle has on it.

Many flood vehicles have a severely damaged odometer that appears to have no more numbers on it. You can look through the “0”s and “1”s to see if they have any remaining life signs!

The sunken in paint can also extend into the ground where it may have protected some of the internal systems from damage. This is what happens with newer cars that have been professionally detailed and insured to be road worthy.

Another hazard is driving on flooded roads, but when the flood affects an entire city, like Auckland it turns into a national disaster zone.

Insurance companies are overwhelmed and have transferred workers from overseas branches, to New Zealand, to handle the state of emergency.

As the summer season arrives, more people are prepared for water emergencies. More communities and institutions are maintaining high levels of readiness, increasing awareness and storing supplies.

Rainfall has been above average this year, meaning there has been enough water in the soil to survive winter. This means there is a higher risk of heavy downpours in the summer months, and potentially flooding events.

This is not great news for car owners, as 1000s of cars, and public system was affected, blocking motorways, airports, and cancelling flights for nearly 30,000 people.

Increased rainfall in recent years mean more people are aware of what to do if it rains heavily. This includes having a way to protect your home or business from rising waters.

This year saw two major floods occur in New Zealand – These were not too serious by international standards, but be aware that New Zealand homes and businesses are protected by water levels being higher than expected.

These floods were caused by an intense rainstorm which hit just after midsummer – this was an unusual year with so much precipitation.

Flood insurance is now available for new and existing homes in most New Zealand cities. The cost can be a little pricey, but it is greatly appreciated when it is in place.

If you live in an area that is at risk of a flood, it is good to know how to prepare. The best way is to get out of town as soon as possible if a flood occurs.

Red Cross volunteers are working hard to provide comfort and care to those who have been affected by this tragedy. It is very difficult work, with many taking on generous amounts of water, food, clothing and travel kits to offer help.

As mentioned earlier, NZ flood advisors recommend having two weeks’ worth of food and water supply on hand. These are important to remember as well- food and water are more expensive during such an event.

Aucklanders are living in fear of the next flood.

insurance.nz has data on the floor height of your home and the area that your home borders to determine if flood insurance is available.

If it is, then your home will be covered up to the amount by insurance that pays out for water damage or flooding. This coverage can help you get back in your house quickly if you need to move-it may not be 100% reliable, but still worth thinking about!

While there has not been a major event like this in New Zealand, it is important to be prepared. You can make a great difference by having someplace you can go in case of an incident such as a long-term power outage.

Jacinda Ardern’s bombshell resignation - January 19th 2023

What does this mean for New Zealand?

Ms Ardern has been New Zealand's prime minister since 2017, announced her resignation, with her concluding remark that she had 'no more in the tank'.

Ardern's resignation as New Zealand prime minister is a game changer for the 2023 election.

“I believe that leading a country is the most privileged job anyone could ever have, but also one of the more challenging,” Ms. Ardern said.

The support for Jacinda Ardern and NZ Labour sinks to lowest since 2017, the latest polls in 2022 shows.New Zealand parliament now has a majority of women in parliament.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Ms Ardern was a great friend and had "demonstrated that empathy and insight are powerful leadership qualities".

After five years as leader, as Labour grapples with the prospect of a recession stemming partly from its strict response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you’re reading this, then it means that New Zealander for democracy has been sacked by the party she helped to lead out of the wilderness!

This comes just one week after her surprise announcement that she would be stepping down as Prime Minister before 7th February.

Her position had already been weakened due to poor polling results and internal struggles within the party.

Under new leader Jacinda Ardern, the Labour Party no longer pretends it wants to govern this nation responsibly. It has openly stated that its top goal is not helping the average voter but instead trying to retain power by any means necessary.

It appears as if Ms. Arden wanted the job so badly that she would do anything to get it, even if it involved stepping outside of the normal bounds of electoral conduct.

Ms Ardern’s position was hurt due to her comment on Mr Seymour, leader of the right-wing libertarian ACT party, asked her to give an example of her "making a mistake, apologising for it properly, and fixing it".

Ms Ardern defended her Labour government's record before sitting down and quietly muttering: "Such an arrogant prick."

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in her tenure has bested Judith Collins during a debate at Parliament, calling her a “Karen” who won’t be protected from such insults by hate speech law reforms.

Ardern disagreed with the statements Collins used against her.  "I also, as it happens, disagree with the member's statement on Twitter that somehow, it will become illegal to call someone a 'Karen'.

Jacinda Ardern offensive MP comment transcript sells for NZ$100,000

It will take time to do this though – perhaps forever if she doesn’t make significant changes. Her leadership won’t be easy either - people with deep connections in the labour movement have already begun agitating for someone else to succeed her.

Jacinda must make some major reforms to win back voters who have soured on Labour over the past year. But don’t expect too much change until October 14th 2023, when the next general election is.

A new Labour Party leader must be elected.

But what if she doesn’t feel ready to take on such responsibility? What if she wants to enjoy her personal life first?

Who will replace Ardern is not yet clear.

National at the start of early 2010s were on top of the country , with a popular leader, they had three election wins under their belt, then things fell apart.

Ardern remarked :

“I hope I leave New Zealanders with a belief that you can be kind, but strong, empathetic but decisive, optimistic but focused. And that you can be your own kind of leader – one who knows when it’s time to go,” Ardern said.

Where to go in New Zealand

New Zealand summer tourism travel

This month we will talk about some of the best places to visit during your summer vacation in New Zealand! As seen before, there are many beautiful cities to visit in New Zealand, with each having their own unique charm.

Your trip can be focused on either or both visiting major attractions as well as exploring local sights and cuisine. Either way, you’re sure to find something that resonates with you and your group.

If you love wine then it is not hard to enjoy good food while touring around New Zealand. Most areas have at least one restaurant that has great reviews so you should feel confident in eating where they invite you to eat and what kind of foods they offer.

We would like to give you an idea of some top tourist destinations in New Zealand.

When to go

New Zealand summer tourism travel

This summer, you have two options when it comes to choosing where to stay or what city to visit. You can choose between staying in expensive beach resorts with lots of amenities that are popular with tourists, or you can opt for more affordable alternatives close to the attractions.

If your budget allows, try going during spring or autumn as these are our warmest seasons! During winter, many people find tourism has slowed down due to the weather, which is very unfortunate as this is one of the best times to explore Europe.

Summer time is also very crowded so if you like to socialize then look out for late fall or early winter. If you’re looking to save some money, consider leaving from March to May or September to November.

These months will be much less busy than July and August and you’ll probably get great deals too because hotels will likely offer discounts at these times.

Future of city living

New Zealand’s city living ev vehicles charging stations and future

As our population grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to accommodate everyone in areas with limited access to transport. With most people now staying closer to work or school, there are limitations on how many cars individuals can own due to space constraints in their homes and neighborhoods.

City living has become the new normal for developed nations around the world. More and more people choose to live close to where they work so that they do not need an expensive car to get around.

These costs include insurance, registration, fuel, maintenance, etc. Therefore, owning a vehicle is no longer a necessity for some.

Fortunately, alternative modes of transportation have emerged to meet this need, such as bicycles, public transit, and ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft. Many large cities have invested in efficient mass transit systems that cater to all types of passengers.

New Zealand being one of these countries, they created EV vehicles (electric vehicular battery powered) charging stations throughout the country! These quick mobile power sources are ideal for those looking to reduce their environmental impact while exploring the surrounding area.

There you have it — a way to stay connected without using much energy! If your favorite place to visit requires its use, then at least you know about these before heading out.
